Who We Are: CAMBA is a community of staff, volunteers, clients, donors, neighbors and partners who work together to build an inclusive New York City, where all children and adults have access to the resources and supports they need to thrive.  We take a comprehensive approach by offering more than 160 integrated programs in:  Education & Youth Development, Family Support, Job Training & Employment Support Services, Health, Housing, and Legal Services. We reach more than 65,000 individuals and families each year at our 90 locations, including 10,000 youth.  CAMBA serves a diverse cross section of New Yorkers from new mothers in Brownsville to job seekers in the Rockaways. More than half of our clients are immigrants and refugees from around the globe. Over 85% of our families are in living in poverty, reflecting the challenges faced by nearly 1.7 million New Yorkers today.

RADx-UP Program: is a nationwide initiative funded by the National Institutes of Health to address disparities in communities hardest hit by COVID-19. The overall goal is to increase the uptake of COVID-19 testing. As a part of RADx-UP, the NYCHA Resident Covid Response Project (RCR) is a joint partnership between NYU Grossman School of Medicine, the NYC Housing Authority (NYCHA), the NYC Health Department, NYC Health + Hospitals (NYC’s public hospital system) and CAMBA. The goals of NYCHA RCR are to develop and sustain a community-led collaboration to guide deployment of COVID-19 testing options for NYC public housing residents and test community-informed strategies to increase testing uptake. The aims of the program are; (1) develop a community engagement strategy to support community-informed testing options; (2) measure inequities in COVID-19 testing and SARS CoV-2 infection among public housing residents; (3) discover facilitators and barriers to testing, isolation, and follow-up care; and (4) Test strategies to increase testing uptake.
