The Position

CAMBA is seeking an Executive Vice President, Information Technology to help guide it through a period of growth and rapid change, ensuring stability and the proper functioning of its Information Technology end-to-end platforms. The primary responsibility of this new role is to provide vision, leadership, and operational oversight for all of the information technology within CAMBA (the Agency). The Executive Vice President, Information Technology interacts with executive and senior leaders to ensure the integration of the Agency’s Strategic Plan with the services and operations provided through Information Technology.

Reporting to the Chief Legal Officer, the Executive Vice President, Information Technology will manage a team of 25 through two direct reports, the Senior Vice President Program Evaluation & Data Analysis (DARE), and the Vice President of Information Technology.

Specific Responsibilities include:


  • Lead a coordinated effort of the DARE team and the Information Technology team.
  • Provide ongoing guidance to both teams to reinforce and develop strong people management capabilities.
  • Foster and maintain a high-performance environment and culture that promotes teamwork, effective communication, and collaboration in order to deliver results across the Agency.

Data Security & Compliance

  • Drive the Information Technology security strategy and implementation to protect the Agency from security threats and cyber-hacking of the Agency’s computer systems, servers, and network connections in accordance with internal processes and procedures, funder requirements, and all applicable legal requirements.
  • Maintain and update the Agency’s information security compliance program, and drive compliance with applicable laws and regulations, and adherence to sound business practices.
  • Identify, manage, and report on the Agency’s information security obligations, pursuant to its contracts with city and state funders, and applicable laws and regulations to include reporting and data analysis.
  • Ensure that the gathering, processing, distribution and use of pertinent information required by management to make decisions occurs in a secure, timely, accurate, and cost-effective manner.
  • Assess risk when program decisions are made, demonstrating consideration for the Agency’s reputation, employees, clients, and assets.


  • Ensure that the Agency has the IT tools, software, equipment, and telecommunications devices necessary to support excellence in its programs and departments.
  • Oversee the administration and maintenance of the Agency’s IT infrastructure.
  • Ensure the maintenance of all systems. Identify vulnerabilities, the need for upgrades, and opportunities for improvement.

Internal Systems

  • Oversee troubleshooting, systems backup, archiving, and disaster recovery; provide expert support when necessary.
  • Work with project teams to help implement solutions to address program and department needs.

Help Desk Administration

  • Provide oversight for all help desk activities to ensure all escalated issues are responded to in a timely manner.
  • Ensure efficient and effective resolution of IT-related issues for all staff within the Agency.

Asset Management

  • Build and maintain vendor relationships; provide direction to staff in the purchasing of hardware and software products.
  • Contribute to the development of policies and procedures to ensure that Agency assets are maintained responsibly.
  • Perform cost/benefit analyses of new technologies, as appropriate, before purchase.
  • Develop and communicate appropriate guides and other information for staff and clients or participant users of the Agency’s information technologies.



Candidates should have at least 15 years of general IT experience, including a minimum of 8 years in a senior leadership role. Experience in a not-for-profit organization is required, with experience in either a socially responsible organization, healthcare, or higher education preferred.

Requirements include:

  • Experience in risk, compliance, and information security policy development.
  • Sound working knowledge of IT operations, systems, and development.
  • Experience in analysis, implementation, and evaluation of IT systems and their specifications.
  • Knowledge and understanding of governmental agency and industry information security, governance, risk and compliance practices and standards.
  • Knowledge of laws and regulations including but not limited to: NY Stop Hacks and Improve Electronic Data Security (SHIELD) Act, Health Insurance Portability Accountability Act (HIPAA), Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA).
  • Knowledge of IT processes and controls with a strong understanding of risk and control frameworks.
  • A strong client service orientation that drives accuracy and responsiveness to program and other department needs.
  • Provide a 360 approach to the leadership and delivery of Information Technology services.

  • BSc/BA in computer science, engineering, or relevant field.
