Who We Are: CAMBA is a community of staff, volunteers, clients, donors, neighbors and partners who work together to build an inclusive New York City. CAMBA serves more than 65,000 individuals and families each year, citywide, including almost 13,000 youth. Our 180+ programs in over 100 locations improve the lives of a diverse cross section of New Yorkers. From homelessness prevention in Staten Island to supportive housing in the Bronx; from employment training in Manhattan to after school programs and college access in Brooklyn; from family shelter and support in Queens to increasing affordable housing across the city, CAMBA provides holistic services to help struggling New Yorkers stabilize their lives and become self-sufficient.

CAMBA’s comprehensive Workforce Development and Refugee Services programs annually provide over 3,800 low income community members with employment, education, training, benefits access, and financial counseling services. CAMBA specializes in assisting those with special barriers to employment including low skilled workers, long-term unemployed, immigrants and refugees, highly skilled immigrant professionals, limited English speakers, formerly incarcerated, individuals in imminent danger of homelessness and trauma survivors. These programs are performance-based, and success is measured by meeting enrollment, employment placement, training, retention and case management goals. The Refugee Services Programs provide resettlement and cultural adjustment support, job training, placement, and transitional support services to refugees and asylees. We work with a vast diversity of job seekers and specialize in assisting those with special barriers to employment including refugees, political asylees, immigrant professionals, young adults, victims of human trafficking and others, from over fifty countries of origin, who are striving to connect to career paths. We take a strength-based approach to career development, matching participants to specific bridge trainings which allow them to benefit from the job opportunities we develop with our employer partners.
