CAMBA’s General Finance Department is responsible for assuring that the financial policies of CAMBA conform to all laws, regulations and CAMBA’s fiscal policies, and that all financial resources are controlled, recorded and reported. The General Finance Department plans, organizes, and monitors the financial activities of CAMBA. The department is responsible for the day-to-day management of all CAMBA cash services including, but not limited to: Cash Receipts, Accounts Payable, and Accounts Receivable. The department prepares the comprehensive combined financial statements and prepares for and oversees the year-end financial audit, Single Audit and all funder required audits.

Position: Senior Accountant – Allocation

Reports To: Assistant Program Director

What The Senior Accountant Does:

  • Track and oversee allocation of non-client rent related expenditures.
  • Initiate transfers from holding companies.
  • Oversee the allocations of site and utility expenses, retrieval of invoices and preparations of site Payment Request Forms.
  • Oversee the allocation of assigned expenditures.
  • Assist Budget Department in determining budgets for allocated expenses.
  • Perform detailed account analysis.
  • Analyze internal financial reports.
  • Prepare workpapers (analysis of financial activity) for annual audits (i.e. funder, financial, Single Audit).
  • Plan and organize Fiscal activities to maximize Fiscal contract’s goals and performance targets.
  • Work collaboratively with team members to improve processes.
  • Provide all required information for weekly/monthly/quarterly/semester/annual reports to CAMBA management and/or to funders.
  • May prepare financial records for related funder audits (i.e. gather relevant documentation, account analysis and workpaper preparation).

Minimum Education/Experience Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) in Finance, Accounting, Economics or a related field and/or equivalent experience.

Other Requirements:

  • Experience in not-for-profit accounting and/or experience auditing not-for-profit entities preferred.
  • Good knowledge of GAAP, accounting procedures, audit schedules, and financial reporting requirements.
  • Very strong computer skills – Excel and Accounting programs (MIP a plus).
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Must abide by strict ethical standards.
  • Must maintain integrity, objectivity, and confidentiality at all times.
  • Must avoid personal conflicts of interest.
