Consumer Law

CAMBA, in collaboration with its partner agencies in the Legal Services for the Working Poor Coalition, provides legal assistance to existing clients in consumer matters, including broken lease cases, payment of back rent (civil court cases), identity theft, resolution of consumer debt issues and representation in debt-collection proceedings, and assistance with consumer fraud​.

This program is funded by the NYS Office of Victims Services, NYC Human Resources Administration, NYC Office of Criminal Justice Coordinator, NYC Office of Civil Justice, NYS IOLA, NYC Council Legal Services for the Working Poor and NYS Office of Court Administration and serves approximately 150 New Yorkers each year.

Eligibility: Clients must be NYC residents who meet income guidelines (below the self-sufficiency standard for NYC).
