Safecare Family Services

The Safecare Program helps parents create safe and healthy living environments, make informed health care decisions for their families, and interact positively with their children at each critical stage of infant and toddler development.

SafeCare, an evidence-based, one-on-one parent training program that uses trained professionals work with one-on-one with parents to improve skills in several areas:

• Health: Parents learn ways to help when their child is sick or hurt, and when to go to the doctor
• Home Safety: Parents learn how to make their home safe for their child
• Parent-Child Interaction: Parents learn how to structure activities with their child including play, meals and outings. Parents of babies will be shown how to interact with their baby to improve development and bonding

There are weekly home visits lasting 1-2 hours, and the program typically lasts 18-20 weeks.

We accept referrals for families with children age 0-5 who live in Flatbush and Crown Heights, CDs 9, 14 and 17, Brownsville, CD16.  This program also supports families at CAMBA’s Flagstone Family Center Shelter. Safecare is funded by the NYC Administration for Children’s Services.
