Teams from CAMBA’s Brownsville In, Violence Out (BIVO) program and Van Dyke Cornerstone Community Center organized and hosted a career panel on Saturday, February 22nd, in celebration of Black History Month.
Panelists included Heavyweight Champ Shannon Briggs, Brownsville Collaborative Middle School (BCMS) Principal Greg Jackson, as well as a representative from Assemblymember Latrice Walker’s office, Allison Jones from BMS (Brownsville Multi-Service Family Health & Wellness Centers), and Daniel Goodine from MEL (Men Elevating Leadership, Inc.).
Over 100 people — including many youth — were in attendance to learn more about them and ask questions about their journeys.
