Two CAMBA Beacon Community Centers Partner With KoKo NYC for Tiny House Workshop

This May, CAMBA Beacons 164 and 361 partnered with KoKo NYC to host their traveling Tiny House Workshop—an interactive experience that brought creativity, sustainability, and hands-on learning directly to our youth.
Participants rotated through small-group sessions where they used real tools like hand saws and battery-powered drills to build with reclaimed and recycled materials. The centerpiece of the workshop was a fully constructed Tiny House—designed and built by KoKo NYC’s teen cohort as part of their Teens Building the Future Together program, funded by The Pinkerton Foundation.
Guided by KoKo teaching artists and teen interns, students explored engineering and design principles while building confidence, teamwork, and new skills. We’re proud to collaborate with organizations like KoKo NYC that turn bold ideas into real-world learning experiences for our young people.
