On Saturday, May 31st, CAMBA participants, NYCHA, NSTAT, BIVO, and a group of dedicated community members hosted Brownsville Clean Up Day at the Brownsville Teen Lounge, located behind 529 Mother Gaston Boulevard. What began as a neighborhood beautification project turned into a full day of music and community connection.
Youth, families, and volunteers came together to clean, clear, and brighten up the shared outdoor space. From picking up litter to planting and organizing, the event gave local teens a chance to lead by example and take pride in the places they call home. Events like this highlight the power of collective action and the importance of creating safe, welcoming spaces for young people to gather and grow.
