As part of our immigrant and refugee support efforts, CAMBA has been selected to provide an early employment program for highly motivated refugees and political asylees. Participants receive cash grants as an incentive for finding work and avoiding public assistance. The program serves refugees and political asylees from more than 50 countries, offering Case Management, Employment and Supportive Services to Remove Barriers to Self Sufficiency, Retention Services, Education and Training Strategies including English Language.
Eligible persons include asylees, refugees, Cuban/Haitian Entrance, Victims of human trafficking and Special Immigrant Visa (SIV) holder within 90 days of asylum, parole or certification. You must lie in NYC or the surrounding area.
This program is funded by the U.S. Committee for Refugees and Immigrants.
For more than 30 years, CAMBA has provided assistance to refugees and asylum seekers in NYC who face cultural and linguistic barriers to finding a safe, permanent home and gainful employment. As an affiliate of the U.S. Committee for Refugees and Immigrants, CAMBA has resettled over 10,000 refugees who have come to New York to be reunited with their families through the federal government’s Refugee Resettlement Program, providing them with intensive case management, counseling and social services, and linking them to English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL) classes, and employment and training opportunities.
